What it takes off your desk
The groundwork of a practice, done before you start.
Most of a governance engagement is groundwork: rebuilding templates, chasing evidence, re-reading regulation. One subscription carries that groundwork for every client, so your hours go to judgment.
| The groundwork today | With one subscription, by design |
|---|---|
| Turning a client’s spreadsheet into findings | Import the register as it stands. Three findings come back: typed versus produced, the register as it stood on any date, and re-assertion lapses, first lapse first. |
| Rebuilding templates for every client | 51 governance documents in the Defensible AI Library, each filled from that client’s records. What the records lack is marked missing, so you know what to ask for. |
| Writing policies from a blank page | Policies ready to adapt: AI acceptable use, vendor management, development, data, retention and anonymization, and the exception register. |
| Chasing evidence through email and spreadsheets | An evidence trail: every field says whether it was typed or produced, and every gate record names its approver and the evidence it rested on. |
| Tracking regulation in several jurisdictions | Regulation rows, each with its source and the date it was checked: OSFI Guideline E-23, Quebec’s AMF guideline, US federal and state rules, and six GCC states. |
| Keeping clients apart | A workspace per client, with its own regime profile, imports and findings. Nothing crosses between clients. |
| Losing the work at handover | Hand the workspace over and the client’s administrator claims it. You keep a read-only copy and stay on as adviser. |
| Proving your own expertise | The certification path, and a listing in the directory institutions search. |
| Switching tools all day | Ask questions and draft entries from your AI assistant. A named person still passes every gate. |

What you deliver, and when.
Each client’s records tell you when work is due. A lapse, a gate, a vendor change or an incident opens the next deliverable, already filled. Each month’s records add to the client’s evidence trail, which goes with the client at handover.
| When | What you deliver | From the library |
|---|---|---|
| Every month | Re-assertion lapses and new findings, first lapse first | The findings on each client’s register |
| Every quarter | The board briefing: counts, what changed, the decisions asked | Board briefing |
| At every gate | The gate review pack and the validation behind it | Deployment gate review pack; validation report |
| When a vendor changes | The vendor assessment, re-issued | AI vendor assessment |
| When something fails | The incident pack, from the first signal to the review | AI incident pack |
| Every year | The maturity position and the charter refresh | Maturity position report; governance charter |
Four steps
From sign-up to a running practice.
- Sign up with your work email, then request your access code with your LinkedIn profile and how you will use GovernanceOS. Once approved, your 7-day trial starts: no password and no card.
- Create a workspace for your first client and import its register. The first findings come back the same day.
- Deliver from the library each month and each quarter.
- When the client is ready, hand the workspace over and stay on as its adviser.
When you are ready, earn the Governance Evidence Practitioner credential and list in the directory. The certification path
OSFI Guideline E-23 takes effect on 1 May 2027.

Questions
Questions about Expertise as a Service
What is Expertise as a Service?
A way to run AI governance for several clients as a recurring service. One GovernanceOS subscription gives you the workspaces, the prefilled documents, the policies, the evidence trail and the regulation rows. You bring the judgment.
Is it AI governance consulting or AI governance as a service?
Both: your consulting, delivered as a service. It suits fractional AI governance work for institutions without a full team.
What does one subscription include?
Client workspaces, the Defensible AI Library with 51 documents filled from each client’s records, the policies, the findings, the regulation rows, exports with your brand, and the handover. One subscription per practitioner.
Does GovernanceOS take a cut of my fees?
No. You set and bill your own fees.
What happens when a client buys GovernanceOS?
The client claims its own workspace and you stay on as its adviser. When a client you bring subscribes, you earn a share, on terms agreed on a call.
Do I need the certification?
Not to start. The Governance Evidence Practitioner credential earns the certified badge and places you first in the directory.
Can I put my brand on deliverables?
Yes. Your brand sits beside GovernanceOS on every deliverable you export.
What happens at the end of the trial?
If you have not subscribed when the seven days end, the workspaces freeze and one export file is made for you. Subscribe within 90 days and everything resumes.
Can you join a call with my client?
Yes. For an institution deal, we join your Fit Call when you ask.
