Your 7-day trial starts when you enter the access code from your approval email. After 7 days your workspaces are frozen: they cannot be opened or changed, and one export file per workspace is made for you. Both are deleted 90 days later unless you subscribe.

A work address at an institution creates your own workspace. It never creates or joins your institution's tenant.
